Abstract
This image was taken from the Hover Collection of Karuk Baskets. Sourvam Dolly is displaying baskets that it is assumed she has created - some are decorative, and some are for food. Humboldt County Native American Basketry has long been an integral part of society and life for Tribal peoples, and has only become a source of interest and collection within the last 150 years. Extensive basketry collections exist, but a good number of them are contested as being stolen from their rightful tribal owners.
